Embracing Grace

Thank you for seeking out this help—you’re already on the path to something amazing!

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

Hey, friend—can I let you in on a secret that changed everything for me? After years of service, I was carrying a load I couldn’t shake. I thought I had to tough it out and prove I could handle it. But here’s the kicker: I didn’t have to! Jesus showed me a better way through His grace. It’s not about what I could do; it’s about what He’s already done. God's word says it all: we’re saved by grace, a gift we don’t earn. I used to think I had to fix myself first, but Romans 5:6-8 says Christ stepped in when I was at my weakest—He didn’t wait for me to get it together.

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person--though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die--but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:6-8

It’s His mercy, not my effort, that makes me new, Titus 3:5. That’s the kind of love that picks you up when you’re down and says, “You’re enough because I’m enough.” Isn’t that freeing? Embracing grace means letting go of the hustle and grabbing hold of Him.

The Gift We Can’t Earn

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

John 3:16-17

Let’s talk about this gift—it’s the best one you’ll ever get! God loved us so much, He sent Jesus, to save us. To save the lost, broken, downtrodden. Jesus makes it a point to leave the ninety-nine to go after the one, Matthew 18:12. If you are reading this, you may be lost and astray and that's ok. Christ is looking for you to call upon. Plead with him to take your burden and to save you!

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Romans 3:23-24

I spent too long trying to measure up, thinking my worth came from what I could do. Scripture tells us that we’ve all missed the mark, yet Christ’s grace justifies us anyway. Because Christ died for our sins, God sees those who turn to him in faith as His own. It’s a gift, pure and simple, paid for by His redemption. You can be adopted into God's family as His child. All you have to do is repent, and believe.

Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!

2 Corinthians 9:15

When I finally embraced that, it was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. No more striving, just receiving. God's gift is “inexpressible”—too big to even describe! For me, surrendering to Christ wasn’t about giving up; it was about opening my hands to a love I couldn’t earn. And guess what? That same gift is waiting for you. You don’t have to climb a mountain to reach it—Jesus already crossed the gap.

Living in His Strength

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13

Here’s where it gets really good: God's grace doesn’t just save us—it fulfills us and makes us content! There was no longer a need for me to be stoic in the face of what I was feeling. I no longer rely on myself when facing life's ups and downs. Christ strengthens me. I now know that no matter the situation or circumstance, I turn to Christ as He is more than enough.

But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

I used to think weakness was a flaw. Jesus told the Apostle Paul, “My grace is enough,” and it’s strongest when I’m not. This is a difficult pill to swallow—my limits are where His power shines brightest! What did this mean? I must humble myself before the lord and understand that I can do nothing without Him. This weakness isn't a physical issue, it's the understanding that we must fully surrender and rely on God.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Romans 8:37

For you vets and first responders out there, this is for you. We’ve been wired to push through on our own grit and strength, but Christ says, “Lean on Me.” We are “more than conquerors” through His love—not because we’re invincible, but because He is. When I stopped relying on myself and started living in His grace, life got lighter. You can too—His strength is yours for the taking.

A Prayer for You

…that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:17-19

Let’s wrap this up with a moment together—take a breath and pray with me:

“Lord Jesus, I’ve been trying so hard on my own, and I’m ready to embrace Your grace. Thank You for loving me when I couldn’t love myself, for dying for me when I had nothing to give. Fill me with Your strength and peace today. Show me how wide and deep Your love is. I’m Yours—lead me forward. Amen.”

My prayer for you is that you will surrender your burdens to Christ. Repent of your sins. Plead to Christ, "I am a sinner! Save me, Lord!" It’s not a fix-it patch; it’s a full-on transformation. You’re not alone. He’s got you, and His grace is more than enough. Step into it today—you won’t believe how good it feels to rest in Him!
